Entraction Poker Network to Shut Down Soon
The Entraction Poker Network is owned by International Gaming Technology, a leader in the online gaming world. Recently the network announced it will shut its operations down pretty soon.
What is behind the shut down?
Entraction Poker Network was bought by IGT in 2011 for $115 million. Over the past few months, the liquidity of the network has been declining, which lead to IGT decision to shut it down.
The show down will happen later this year, in December, but the exact date has not yet been set. An IGT spokesperson stated that the company has been evaluating their resources as a part of the regular business process. Markets and products have also been undergoing a thorough inspection. The evaluation resulted in a decision to consolidate IGT’s product development, which will allow them to combine several locations and concentrate on the most attractive opportunities.
The spokesperson added that the company will continue being focused on their slot and casino offering, which has witnessed steady development. The social gaming offering is also going to be focused upon, which is provided with DoubleDown Casino. IGT will now integrate the Entraction products into their overall offerings.
The change and ambiguity ofEurope’s market conditions have cut down the expected returns in some of IGTs real money products. To deal with this situation, they are consolidating the product development. The company is maintaining options so that future market changes can be tackled effectively. The decision is primarily focused on European dotcom business and will not impact the future decisions of the company to enter into markets as and when commercial, regulation and taxation opportunities crop up.
Skins that are presently on Entraction Network are attempting to find out which network they can move on to now. iGameMalta, who owns 24hPoker, iGame and Pokerihuone is planning on joining Microgaming Network. Quite a few other poker rooms on the network have already emailed their customers to inform them of moving to a new network after Entraction Network officially closes.
