The 12^th of August witnessed a massive poker tournament kicking off at PokerStars called the Red Spade Open. The tournament will give players the opportunity to win a whopping $1 million while they enjoy competing at their favorite game.

The generous tournament is being hosted by PokerStars and features a $55 buy-in. The $1 million award is in the form of a prize pool that will at least earn the winner about $200,000. Players who indulge in low stake games will get an opportunity to participate in this game and play alongside some well know names from the poker industry.

Apart from playing alongside these poker pros, players will also get a chance to beat Team Online and Team PokerStars Pro members that are participating and will be awarded $100 for each of these team players that they outdo.

This tournament will replace the weekly event on PokerStars, which is known as the ‘Biggest $55’. The tournament will continue till the 19^th of August.

In order to be a part of this prestigious event players’ had two options, they could either win a seat through the various satellite events or directly buy-in. The tournament can also be played from mobile devices by downloading the app from the PokerStars site.

Seats for the tournament can also be bought from the PokerStars VIP club store. The amount your ticket will cost depends on your VIP status. Last year the same tournament was won by an Austrian player called crackin_ty, who walked away with $247,378.
