The Golden Nugget will Host the Grand Poker Series in 2015

Grand-Poker-Series-Golden-Nugget

The Grand Poker Series is back for the eighth edition and will be hosted at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Action starts at the end of this month on May 27th 2015 and will run until July 3rd 2015 – making the Grand Poker Series one of the biggest live poker series around. Another selling point of the Grand Poker Series is the fact it caters to smaller buy-in players.

Not everyone can afford the big buy-ins required to compete in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, but the Grand Poker Series will allow those players the chance to compete for big prizes without having to spend nearly as much on buy-ins.

The minimum tournament buy-in is just $100, while the maximum buy-in is $560 during the entire series.

There will be $1,600,000 in guaranteed prize pool money across the 56-event schedule, including $500,000 GTD in the Main Event, which will have a $560 buy-in. There are also going to be eleven tournaments with $100,000 GTD ($350 Buy-in).

How could the Grand Poker Series be even better? Well, this year there’s a strong focus on poker games other than Texas Holdem – there are going to be a lot of mixed game poker tournaments during the series, including two big H.O.R.S.E. events.

Other changes have been made this year as well. The blind structure and payout percentages have both been altered to improve upon previous series. Blind levels will range between 30-minutes and 60-minutes, depending upon the stage of the event.

Large playing fields often turn up to play in the Grand Poker Series, as Vegas is full of poker players looking for action during the summer months. With that in mind – that’s why the series had to alter the blind levels for this year.

The Grand Poker Series has also partnered up with Ante Up Poker Tour for the first time. Not only will the series receive more in-depth coverage during the tournaments, but there will also be an added perk for the winner of the Grand Poker Series Main Event.

Not only will the winner take home a bunch of cash, but he or she will also be rewarded with one ticket into the 2015 Ante Up World Championship Main Event. With a great format and inexpensive buy-ins – the Grand Poker Series will live up to the hype again.
